I haven't posted here in a very long time, it feels good to be back.
There is lots that I will touch upon but not tonight, later though.
The reason I post now is because for the first time in my life I listened to Jeff Buckley. He's not the best singer/songwriter or the best musician I have heard in recent memory
but
his music is just so magnificently personal and full of legitimate feeling and beauty.
Even with my jaded outlook and increasing love of experimental and jazz music. His music is filled with staggering emotion and passion

-30-
My last post that I did was on The Wire and what a landmark piece of art it was. Well now that I have finally finished it I am fully convinced that it is not only the best crime based drama ever written, it's simply one of the most creative triumphs in the history of media period. As far as Television Programming goes I have seen nothing that can compare and I doubt I ever will, this was just something so special and unique. It's hard writing up anything to really explain the series and what made it so monumental and so mesmerizing to watch. It can't be, any real attempts would just sell it short and fail to do it any real justice. It simply was, is, the most ruthless, uncompromising, detailed, emotional, and honest story told on television.

The Wire
I've recently finally buckled down to really start watching this show and start appreciating it. Simply put this is probably the best TV show I have ever seen and one of the most gripping and intense pieces of media that I have ever been fortunate to experience. Ruthlessly uncompromising, it creates a vivid brutal look at society and the institutions that run it.
The level of care that this show is put together is on a whole other level. The cinematography is simple but effective, the dialogue is natural and never comes off as forced or fake, the pacing is endlessly rewarding and keeps you captivated the whole time, but what really makes this show work is the acting. The acting is a sublime joy and it's so fluid that it never seems like acting, but rather like people in a documentary.
This show creates such a feeling of defeat, that no matter how hard people try there can never be any real change because of the institutions that they all work for. It certainly leaves an impression and something that makes you really think. In many ways this show is much more frightening than any horror film or thriller I have ever seen. What makes it scarier is how this isn't something that assaults us in our imaginations or dreams, it's that this truly is reality. The things portrayed on the show can easily be witnessed every day and often do occur in every major city in this country. It shows us what movies and television programs neglect to include: the reality of the situation, that the "good" guys always win, that things will get better when it really doesn't look that way. This is a stark and searing piece of storytelling that shows us the way things really are. It does so unflinchingly and without taking sides or even really making a statement. It just shows things they way they really are

Blood on the Tracks
I guess it's been awhile since I've posted anything. I really have nothing to say right now though. I have to do a lot of thinking and make some big choices. I guess I'm ready for it, after all I don't have much of a choice. It's just waiting for it to get here that's really bothering me

The Next Episode
The party was well...a party
Lots of things went down for better or for worse. For the better I think though
The last decade was full of things I will never forget. And so will the new one, obviously
this all reads very lame haha
I'm grateful for everyone in my life and those who have affected me.
Big things gonna happen this year, i'll make sure they do

Good Company
That's the best way to describe this week. After a difficult start this month took of and flew.
In many ways it's what I wanted and for that I am grateful.
Being with them adds a sense of completion, especially the two of them.
Of course it's not the old picture we all expected before they left, but what we have now is still spectacular.
though there are people that I miss
(why did they leave)
Jim helped me the other week and now I have one final task before this can finally be put to rest as it should be.
A few more days till this year ends. and how it will end
